A character's [[level]] is a numeric representation of their [[experience]] and overall power level, from 1 to 100. It affects many other game mechanics, including but not limited to:
* [[carrying capacity]]
* access to [[abilities]]
* [[Hit|+Hit]] / [[Damage|+Dam]]
* [[experience]] per [[mob]] kill
* [[hand dice]]

A character increases their [[level]] by accumulating enough [[experience]] ("xp" for short) and using the "[[gain]]" command. The amount of xp needed to [[gain]] a [[level]] can be viewed via the "[[level]]" command.
