Master mobs are some of the strongest in the game. Though most are indeed very strong in terms of stats and pools, not all are. The "master mob" designation actually refers to a specific NPC class. You can tell a master mob by using the consider command.
For example, when looking at Raash, the Temple Guardian, no indication is given, other than a unique name. To see if a mob is a master, use the consider
command. You'll see output like:
