One of the defining features of Nodeka is it's map.
<quote>Real-time, overhead map that can be used anywhere, all of the time.</quote>
Map: Usage: <automatic when moving if "auto-map" is "toggled" on> Usage: map (when using manually) The "map" command will allow you to see your surrounding rooms, creatures and players in a true line of sight fashion. Keep in mind, this is a true line of sight representation of what's around you. Unlike other MUDs, Nodeka's engine is high performance and allows a dynamic building of a map while you move. The amount you can see on your map changes depending on where you are. For example if you are right next to a corner you can generally see further around it than if you were standing back away from it. Your map can be used in any area, but some areas are mazes which distort your map. Keep this in mind if your map becomes difficult to understand. By default "auto-map" is on when you are moving. To turn it off, simply type: > toggle auto-map Repeat the above command to turn it back on. Using the "auto-map" command when moving is like typing "map" each time you move, rather than typing "look". Most players agree this is highly advantageous as you can see more. For a full map legend, see 'help map legend.' For more information on toggle settings, see 'help toggle'.
