A pool can be seen almost like a stat, but also as a resource a player has access to spend. Pools represent the brawn, fortitude, resolve, and magical prowess of a character or mob. They grow in relation to stats and level, and can be trained, enhanced, stoned, and otherwise grow beyond normal rates, up to a maximum. There is an upper limit, but in practice, two maxed characters could have vastly different amounts of effective pools due to bonuses because of equipment and/or racial bonuses.

Score Sheet Topic: Pools

There are four pools: health, endurance, mana and spirit. Each of the four
pools identify how many points you have left and what your maximum value is,
along with information regarding your regeneration percent of a pool.

When pools drop to 0 specific actions are no longer possible.

     When pool drops to zero:
Health - you become unconscious, leaving you unable to move or
                      perform any physical action.
Endurance - you become unable to move and are prevented from using
any skill which requires endurance to successfully
                      perform.
Mana - you become unable to cast any spells.
Spirit - you become unable to invoke any spells.
