A character's position relative to the world around them.

From the helpfile:

There are three primary positions on Nodeka:

  sleeping          - regenerates the most, but unaware of actions around you
  resting           - regenerates more than standing, protects you from being
                      pulled by your group
  standing          - regenerates the least, but allows you to move from room
                      to room
