Wulniothe
"Referred to alternately as "heroes of the frozen north" and "tundra scum", the Wulniothe have garnered a storied and sometimes paradoxical past. By most historical accounts, this race of dark-skinned humanoids was wiped out in ages past, having sacrificed themselves in an attempt to seal the Abyss before it tore into the Nodekian world. And yet, despite their fabled noble ending, they still exist today, amidst whispers that speak of dark bargains made with the Abyssal demons themselves.
Often characterized as barbaric hunters, the Wulniothe have nonetheless shown a strong aptitude for uncovering the secrets of magic as well. They possess a remarkable talent for learning, and in combat they often seem to be blessed with supernatural reserves of luck. At a young age, all Wulniothe who seek to tread the path of combat are tattooed across their backs and arms with pale twisting sigils, which imbue them with the powers of ice and frost in melee."
